On Saturday, August 2, 2025, the coastal town in Charente-Maritime once again chose to dazzle its summer visitors with an Allumee drone show.
Having already carried out the project in 2023, the municipality repeated the effort this year using 300 drones.
Replace traditional fireworks
Two years ago, the municipality decided to find an alternative to traditional fireworks.
In fact, the proximity to a large forest—the Suzac Forest—poses a significant fire risk during this period of drought.
The commitment of elected officials for 2025: to offer “a truly enchanting visual experience, a celebration of technology in the service of beauty, providing a dazzling highlight to the season,”
That promise was kept with these 300 drones, which took off from Grande Plage with millimeter-level precision to bring to life fleeting scenes that enchanted the audience.
A poetic performance with a summer theme
To pay tribute to the seaside resort, Allumee opted for a festive show with a summer theme—an ode to seaside vacations.
About ten luminous figures thus appeared above the Atlantic.
Marine animals—whales, seagulls, dolphins, rays…—followed by festive and musical scenes, culminating in a spectacular finale at the iconic Vallières Lighthouse, a must-see historic landmark.
As the show came to a close, the appearance of the phrase “Life is beautiful in Saint-Georges de Didonne” was met with cheers from the audience.
An audience delighted by the event
Tens of thousands of Saint-George residents and tourists had gathered on Grande Plage to enjoy the highly anticipated drone show.
The audience was clearly won over by the performance, judging by the enthusiastic applause.
That enthusiasm was also evident on social media.
