Tours is celebrating July 14 with a show featuring 400 Allumee drones
On July 14, 2025, the City of Tours, in partnership with La Riche, once again decided to treat its residents to a special event. Allumee was selected to orchestrate this magical moment.
More than 25,000 people gathered at Gloriette Park to experience “Symphonie des Lumières,” an aerial show conceived and produced by Allumee.
A National Celebration Reimagined
For years, Tours celebrated July 14 with fireworks displays held first on an island in the Loire River and later on the banks of the Cher River. However, city officials discovered that these fireworks displays were disrupting the nesting of terns, a migratory species found in the region.
In light of this environmental issue, elected officials made the responsible decision to suspend these festivities, temporarily depriving residents of their traditional summer celebrations.
The emergence of drone shows has offered an innovative alternative. In 2024, Tours partnered with the neighboring town of La Riche to issue a call for bids, which was won by Allumee, a company specializing in drone shows.
Last year, the show was already a resounding success, drawing 15,000 spectators. This success led the two municipalities to immediately renew their partnership with Allumee for the 2025 edition. It was a resounding success, as 25,000 people gathered at Gloriette Park.
The Symphony of Lights to Set Tours and La Riche Dancing
At 10:45 p.m., 400 drones took to the sky for a performance of the Symphony of Lights, a show created by Allumee.
A true musical journey through time: from classical to electronic, with stops along the way at rock and disco… featuring iconic songs that have gotten more than a few people dancing!
In the sky, various paintings pay tribute to these musical styles:

● A silhouette of Freddy Mercury and his legendary “We Will Rock You”

And of course, since it was July 14, patriotic performances were on hand to celebrate the national holiday. It was a festive and lively show designed to delight young and old alike.
More musical drone shows to celebrate Bastille Day across France
The towns of La Machine, Trèbes, Gréoux-les-Bains, and Les Clayes-sous-Bois also treated themselves to Allumee’s “Symphony of Lights” featuring 200 drones to celebrate July 14.
All in all, nearly 50,000 people danced to the beat of timeless hits!
